It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it. I am cellular poop, a toxic byproduct of cellular metabolism. I am composed of ocher-yellow-brown extracellular sludge. My major ingredient is either ceroid, amyloid, or lipofuscin. I accumulate in nerve cells of the skin, brain, muscle, heart, liver, adrenals, etc. I am often found on the back of the hand. You can also discern me as an alien pigmentation in the iris of the eye. I am composed of peroxidized fat and protein. Ceroid, amyloid, and lipfuscin are breakdown products of cellular metabolism. I flouresce under ultraviolet light. This helps differentiate me from other metabolic byproducts such as uro-roseines, porphyrins, and melanins. If you eat a lot of fat and oil, lipids accumulate in the liver and throughout the cellular mechanism. I can choke the livin' daylights out of any healthy cell. Everytime you buy polyunsaturated oils at the health food store you help increase my strength and numbers, because I often contain polyunsaturated oils. Please don't take choline. It retards my accumulation. So does the amino acid methionine, which can be broken down into choline. When choline is administered, brain actylcholine levels are elevated. How am I going to age your brain if you're foolishly eating choline-lade foods such as lentils, garbanzo beans, soybeans, and bean sprouts? And please don't protect your dietary oil by adding such antioxidant ingredients as thyme, rosemary, sage, vitamin E, or vitamin C. That relentless foe of age pigmentation and liver spots, Adano C. Ley, called me a "mini-leprosy," and he called leporsy "runaway liver spots." He claimed that I was karma for boozing it up in a former life. Sounds pretty weird to me. All I know is that I'm a big, bad hunk of wear-and-tear pigment, and I'm down on the case. I'm an Exxon oil spill in the body ecology." |
